Guidelines for purchasing used goods.

Although we at Paragon are excited to provide an outlet for recycled goods we also have to balance this with our primary business line, which is bridge building. We kindly ask that you follow the these guidelines in order to keep this outlet of recycled goods available to you and the general public.

Pictures of exactly what is available at any given time can be e-mailed to clients.

Please be considerate of Paragon's time. We may charge clients for time consuming tasks requested.

Paragon recommends that you inspect used parts in person before purchasing.

All goods are sold to the first person to pay for goods. Paragon does not hold unpaid goods.

No refunds for used goods.

Used Truck Sets

Paragon Railcar Salvage usually has several railcar truck sets available and ready for immediate delivery at our Colorado facility.

These truck sets are generally acquired when we receive a railroad car to our facility via railroad. Railcars are stripped down and reuseable parts, like these truck sets, are saved. All railcars delivered to Paragon via railroad must meet AAR / FRA interchange rules which means that these truck sets are usually in pretty good condition when we get them. Some parts are almost new with paper tags still on them.

Sizes: The most common size truck set we see are 70 ton sets with 33" wheel sets. Other sizes we see every now and then are 50 ton, 100 ton, and 125 ton.

What does a wheel set consist of?
A wheel set consists of a single axle, two wheel plates, and two roller bearings.

What does a truck set consist of?
A truck set consists of two wheel sets, four roller bearing adapters, two side frames, a single truck bolster, various truck springs, and whatever other truck or brake parts that are available.
